Andrew English joins Atkins from Australian construction group John Holland, where he was executive general manager for its infrastructure operations.

He has previously worked for Balfour Beatty and Skanska, where roles included managing director of Skanska UK’s infrastructure division.

At Atkins, he replaces Jason Pavey, who had been interim managing director of the transportation division since the departure of Lizi Stewart at the end of 2021. She is now chief executive of Core Highways Group. Jason Pavey is now managing director for Atkins operations & maintenance in Europe (including the UK).

Chief executive Richard Robinson said: “Andrew brings a wealth of experience and a fantastic track record of leading high-performing businesses operating across the transportation sector. 

“He joins Atkins at an exciting time as we continue our focus on delivering better outcomes for clients, communities and the environment through the innovative use of data and technology.”
