He has now joined rival surveying firm Gleeds where he will work alongside regional director Paul Sweeney running the London office.
Douglas McCormick, Gleeds group executive director, said, “Steven brings enormous experience of running a global business. I couldn’t be happier to have someone of his character join our business – a real natural leader who oozes personality, passion and dedication, and who will no doubt help us make some meaningful headway in London.”
Gleeds hopes to win public sector clients in the capital to add to its existing residential and commercial sector work, and so plans to adapt to changing client priorities relating to sustainability and new ways of working.
Steven Mason said he was glad to be joining a company where he could progress his career. “After spending such a large part of my career at Mace, I wanted to join an organisation that is an established industry leader, but one whose growth and success I felt that I could contribute to,” he said. “Gleeds offers me that opportunity and shares the values, personality and ambition that I have embedded within me from my time at Mace. Gleeds will provide me with a perfect platform for the next stage of my career and I am delighted to have the opportunity to support the business in achieving its future goals and growth plans.”
