Emergency services were called to the Foresterhill Health Campus at around 9.40am on Wednesday 18th January following a report of a man suffering a head injury on a construction site.
Police Scotland said: “Emergency services attended and a 52-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. The Health & Safety Executive has been informed. A reported will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
The incident took place on the site where Graham Construction is building the £245m Baird Family Hospital and Anchor Centre for NHS Grampian. The man who died worked for a subcontractor on the project.
A Graham spokesperson told the local press: “We are deeply saddened to confirm a fatality at the Foresterhill Health Campus in Aberdeen today. We are in discussions with the subcontractor involved, as well as the emergency services and the Health & Safety Executive and we have paused all related work. We will fully cooperate with any investigation. Our thoughts are with the family of the deceased and we will support our colleagues as best we can at this difficult time.”
